"Playing it safe will get you no where. You have to be willing to go after something that is bigger than you."- G. Richards, Jr

Times are harder now then they have been in the last few decades.  No longer is it acceptable for people to just be good enough, and survival of the un-fittest just won't cut it.  At this time in history it is only survival of the fittest, and those who are unable to keep up will end up becoming someone else's lunch.  In order to be able to keep moving forward and evolving, you must be willing to  throw caution to the wind and go after the big score.  The world only remembers the names of those who go after something that is, at the time, bigger then they are.   Allen Iverson is who he is because when he stepped onto the basketball court against Michael Jordan, he went after him without fear.   That's why Martin Luther King is world renowned, because he decided to take on racism against black people.   Mark Zukerberg taking on the task of creating a better social networking platform then Myspace, is why he is America's youngest billionaire.  History is littered with stories of people who had the gaul to take on others, or a task, that was bigger then they were.    You have to be honest and ask yourself if you have the wherewithal to go after something that is bigger then you, or are you going to keep wrestling with your childhood fears?  Are you going to play it safe, or will you step up and meet your challenge head on?  Remember in life, the only person that can stop you, is you.

"You have no one to blame for how your life turns out but yourself" - G. Richards, Jr.

Life all boils down to decisions and choices.  Where we end up in life all started with a choice we made earlier in life.  If we are unsatisfied with the current conditions in life, and if we feel we have not done enough in life, it started with our decision to not work hard enough.  Those who will not accept less than what they in vision for themselves, usually end up living happier lives.  They made a decision that regardless of what happens they will work hard to achieve what they want.  I know its easy to place the blame on our parents, our environment, or our job, for where we are in life.  The only problem with that is the fact that neither our parents, our environment, or our jobs assumed the responsibility of ensuring our happiness.  They all have a role to play in our life, but neither one of these factors asked to take on the task of making you happy.  You want more money, go and get it.  You want a better career, go and get it.  You want to have a better body and be in shape, go and get it.  If you are looking for someone to blame for your unhappiness and discontent with life, look at the man in the mirror.

"The shortest distance between two points is a straight line. Decide where you want to be in life, and create a plan for how you will get there" - G. Richards, Jr

Let's be honest, everyone will not be successful in lfe.  Every new company will not be successful, every kid on the basketball court will not make it to the NBA, and every musician will not be a star.  Now I don't take pleasure in saying this, but it is an unfortunate truth, and one reason why this truth exists is because we unnecessarily make things harder than they have to be.  We say to ourselves reaching our goals and achieving success cannot be that easy, when in actuality its much easier than you think.  We make things harder by getting distracted with new goals before completing the first, not being clear on what our goal is, surrounding ourselves with the wrong people, and the list can go on.  All you need to achieve your goals and see your dream come to fruition is a clear picture of where you are right now, point A, and where you want to be, point B, and map out the best route to get there.  Life is hard enough, don't go out of your way to make things more difficult than they have to be.

"You can't bypass the process for progress. You have to go through it." - G. Richards Jr.

There aren't any short cuts to success.  There is a old saying that goes, " For he who is willing to do what is hard, life will be easy, and he who is willing to do what is easy, life will be hard".  Every person that has achieved any level of success has gone through some level of hardships.  If you do your research, Tyler Perry, Christopher Gardner, Donald Trump, and 50 cent have all had great hardships while working to achieve their goals.  What they also have in common is that they didn't allow the hardships they experienced to detour them from their goals.  They knew what they wanted to achieve in life, and would not accept anything less.  Now you can coast through life and just accept what life hands you, but if you want more out of life one thing you can count on is that it will not be a cake walk.

"The only thing that separates the winners from the loser is effort." G. Richards Jr.

Do you have what it takes to get to the top?  Most people are talkers, but have no action behind their words.  They spend their day talking about what they want, or complaining about certain situations in their life, but they are not willing to do what it takes to get what they want.  Whatever you want in life is attainable, but you have to be willing to work hard to get it.  People who are successful are successful for a reason.  When you are willing to go further than your competition, you will always end up on top.  Develop a sickening work ethic, and whatever you want in life will be yours.  Remember sleep a little less, work a little harder, and I will see you at the top.

"Life is to short, so while you are on this Earth figure out what your purpose is." G. Richards Jr

We were all put here for a reason.  A car is made to drive, a fish to swim, and a pigeon to fly.  Do you know why you were put on this Earth?  A car that doesn't drive becomes useless and ends up in the junk yard.  A pigeon that can't fly,or a fish that can't swim, becomes someone's dinner.  Not doing what you were mean't to do, is the equivalent of being dead.  Life is for living, and to just exist is a waist of days.  Our time on this Earth is short, so while you are here figure out what your purpose is.  Once you figure out what your purpose is, food will taste better, roses will smell sweeter, even the air you breath will seem cleaner.  Okay maybe not literally, but you get the gist of what I am saying.
